Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center is a medical and surgical hospital committed to serving the city of Norfolk, Virginia. It is a historical facility that was established in 1855 and was initially named the Hospital of St. Vincent de Paul. The original hospital was actually the home of a woman named Miss Ann Plume Behan Herron who died of yellow fever and entrusted her residence to the sisters for use as an infirmary. Almost ruined by a fire in 1899, the building was expanded in 1901, then in 1944, it moved to its current location with the name Depaul Hospital.

Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center is the first public hospital in Norfolk, as well as Virginia’s oldest Catholic public hospital. A short drive from the medical facility is the Norfolk Botanical Garden, which is the largest of its kind in the state featuring many theme gardens and an arboretum. The Chesapeake Beach and Ocean Breeze Waterpark in the nearby city of Virginia Beach are also unmissable attractions as they offer distinct experiences to visitors.
