Known as the first-ever gold processing plant that is powered by diesel and the last of its kind in the country, Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery was opened back in the late 1890's. It also serves as one of the only six-head stamper batteries all over the globe. It is still fully operational until today even at over a hundred years old. Visitors coming into the battery are treated to the actual working battery and its significance to the mining industry back in the days.
