MYD-Malindi Airport has 2 bitumen or asphalt runways, one measuring 4,600 feet, the other 3,524 feet. It has a terminal building that was funded by the Kenyan Government for its expansion and updating as well as the new control tower and the rehabilitation of the said runways. This was done in the year 2011 up until 2012. Its new expansion continued in the year 2018, covering 25 hectares of residential land which was then compensated by the National Land Commission of Kenya. Watamu is a nearby city from the MYD.
