Petra, Wadi Musa, Jordan

Petra is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. It is a historical city in Jordan and serves as the capital of the Nabataean Arabs. The ancient city is visited by tourists all over the world and is considered as the country’s most valuable treasure and is a great tourist attraction. Petra is nicknamed the rose-red city, after the color the rock used to carve most of the city structures. Petra was named a World Heritage Site on December 6, 1985. The Smithsonian Magazine chose Petra as one of the 28 places to visit before dying.

Petra is essentially an abandoned city and serves as an archaeological tourist sight. Many of the hotels near Petra are nearby the town that has sprung around it, Wadi Musa or the Valley of Moses.
