Querétaro Intercontinental Airport – QRO
Operated by the Gobiernodel Estado, Querétaro Intercontinental Airport is an international airport, which goes by the IATA code QRO. While the airfield is found in the municipalities of El Marqués and Colón, it actually serves the city of Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico. It also acts as the alternate airport for Mexico City International Airport and hosts the headquarters of TAR Airlines. Querétaro Intercontinental Airport became the substitute airport for Ing. Fernando Espinoza Gutiérrez International Airport, which was in Querétaro but ceased operations in 2004.

The QRO-Querétaro Intercontinental Airport is known as among the fastest-growing airfields in Mexico. In fact, in 2018 alone, the airport handled over a million passengers, a whopping 26.86% increase from its statistics in 2017. Today, the airport is served by seven airlines, two of which offer seasonal flights to Tijuana and Cancún. The busiest domestic route taken by the passengers is to Nuevo León, Monterrey, provided by Aeroméxico Connect, Viva Aerobus, and TAR.There are also cargo airlines connecting Querétaro Intercontinental Airport to various points in Mexico and the US. Make sure to include the towns of Atotonilco, Puerto de Nieto, and El Santuario in your itinerary.

While there are small inns found just 15 minutes from the airport, those hotels which offer airport transfers are located in downtown Querétaro. They are also easily accessible to the popular landmarks in the city.
