Aalborg Airport - AAL Aalborg
In 1938, Aalborg Airport opened to the public as the second national airport in Aalborg, Copenhagen. It was used by the German Air Force in World War II (WWII). Today, it serves both the public and the military. In 2015, it recorded an annual passenger traffic of 1.46 million.

The main route flying to and from Copenhagen dates back has been flying since 1936, two (2) years before AAL-Aalborg Airport was even established. It is the first domestic route in the country, and has always been the busiest domestic route until today. In 1952, the Aalborg Air Base was built in the northern part of the airport Currently, the terminal building being used was developed in 2001. The airport was expanded in 2007 and in 2013 to accommodate more passengers, with a larger terminal and more gates. The year 2011 was significant for the airport, after KLM launched a new route to Amsterdam. The 2013 expansion also paved the way for more facilities. It operates with two (2) runways measuring 8,707-foot long and 8,363-foot long, respectively. 12 airlines operate in the airport, including Atlantic Airways, Bulgaria Air, Corendon Airlines, Danish Air Transport, Great Dane Airlines, Jet Time, KLM, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Scandinavian Airlines, SunExpress, and Vueling. The airport also houses the head offices of North Flying and Greenland Express. Other than Aalborg, guests flying in also usually visit Frejlev.
