Hami, China, where the famous Hami melon or Hamigua comes from, is a prefectural-city located in the province of Xinjiang. Considered an important industrial and agricultural center of the country and sits in the Great Silk Road, Hami has a long history of ancient culture definitely worth-knowing and worth-visiting for all history buffs out there. The city is connected by railway from neighboring cities and is the easiest mode of transportation to take if you are planning to visit.
Best Time to Visit
It is warmest during the months of May to September when it is mid-spring and summer in Hami, China and these months are best time to visit. Generally, the weather is dry all-year round but it may get scorching hot during summers while freezing cold during winter of December-January. The Hami Melon Festival is held every summer.

Tourists from all over the world come to Hami, aside for the famous melons, to see ancient and medieval architectures. Tianshan Scenic Resort and BaiKun Grassland, which offer spectacular green space views are also found within the city.
