Hatay Airport is a public use international airport owned by the DHMI, the General Directorate of State Airports of Turkey. Hatay Airport, whose IATA code is HTY, serves the cities of Antakya (Antioch) and Iskenderun (Alexandretta) in the province of Hatay, Turkey. Located in the district of Asagobia, Hatay Airport was inaugurated in December2007, on the area where the now drained Lake Amik once stood. HatayAirport, with the help of six airlines, handles flights to four domestic destinations and three international destinations – Riyadh, Jeddah and Cyprus.Typically, HTY Airport serves an average of 1.1 million passengers per year.

Hatay Airport has two separate terminals: one for domestic and another for international flights. It utilizes navigation and landing systems such as Distance Measurement Equipment (DME), Instrument Landing System (ILS), Non Directional Radio Beacon (NDB) and VHF Omnirange Radio (VOR/DVOR). HTY Airport also has a 24/7 Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) system in place, placing the airport in category 7 of rescue and fire fighting as determined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). HTY has one runway that can handle long haul transport aircraft and most commercial jumbo jets. Visitors can reach the municipality of Arsuz and the village of Ulucinar through the HTY-Hatay Airport.
