Niigata Airport is a public-used airport with an assigned IATA code of KIJ situated Niigata, Japan. The airport owed by the local government but is operated by the ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan. Niigata Airport was first located on the Sea of Japan in 1929 and was later transferred to Matsugazakahama Village in 1930 bearing its current name.
