Masaka, Uganda is a city located in Buganda Region and is the base of the Masaka District. Masaka was founded as a township and was converted into a town than a municipality. In 2019, Uganda finally came to a resolution and declared Masaka, UG, as a city and will take effect on July 1, 2020.

The ideal months to visit Masaka are from June to August for good weather. These months are suitable for sightseeing and outdoor activities. June also marks the annual Uganda Marathon, which draws in huge crowds of participants and spectators. Masaka Golf Course is one of the well-known landmarks in the city and offers a nice landscape for golfers. The Muteesa I Royal University is another significant landmark in Uganda. This private university has three campuses with the main one located in Masaka.
