Riverside Medical Center is the flagship and one of the hospitals of Riverside Health System, a non-profit-making healthcare institution located in Newport News, Virginia. It is the most all-inclusive medical facility in the state that combines a healing environment with up-to-date medical technology. Also, it provides centers for trauma, radiosurgery, and cancer treatment in the region, as well as an open heart surgery program, which is the only one in the city. 

Since 1916, Riverside Medical Center started serving the community and is mainly a medical and surgical facility. A short distance from the center is Mariners' Museum and Park, which is Newport News’ other top attractions as it is among the largest of its kind in North America displaying an extensive collection of maritime history that took place in the Western Hemisphere. The other places of interest near Riverside Medical Center are the Virginia Air and Space Center, another museum, and Langley Speedway, a race track, which both lies in the neighboring city of Hampton.
