Sibu Airport - SBW Malaysia
Sibu Airport is a public airport located a few miles from Sibu, Malaysia. It has an IATA code of SBW and is owned by the Malaysian government and operated by the Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. In 2018, it served over 1.5 million passengers and transported 1,443 tons of cargo, making it the 11th busiest airport in all of Malaysia.
Best Time to Visit
The first airport built in Sibu was constructed in World War II by Japanese forces as a military air strip. It was destroyed by Allied Forces and subsequently renovated after the war. The airport received its first aircraft landing in 1952. This first airport was since demolished to make way for the new airport facility in 1994, with modernized facilities capable of accommodating more passengers, more airlines, and heavier-duty aircraft. The cities of Kampong Banyok and Kampong Kerto lie only 20 minutes from the Sibu city proper.

The Sibu Swanhouse is a holiday house located only 14 miles from Sibu Airport. It is colorfully and eccentrically decorated, featuring a small wall mural of a landscape and a tapestry of a deer hanging by the bedside and covered in lights. While its interiors are minimal, guests will enjoy the splashes of color introduced by the occasional wall decoration and bedspreads.
