It is named after Jose Luis Alberto Munoz Marin, the country’s first democratically elected governor. SJU is the busiest airport in the Caribbean region and serves as the hub for airlines like Air Sunshine, Cape Air, M&N Aviation, Seaborne Airlines, and Tradewind Aviation. It is also an important cargo hub and is served by Ameriflight, Mountain Air Crago, and Air Cargo Carriers. JetBlue also uses it as a focus city. In 2017, it served a total of 8.4 million passengers.
