A public airport owned by the local government of Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties, Cherry Capital Airport, Michigan, USA (TVC) is part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 2017-2021. It is known as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.

Cherry Capital Airport opened its doors in 1936. Back then, it was known as Traverse City Airport. Later, it was transferred to the Coast Guard Air Station, where it opened with four (4) runways. Today, it has two (2) runways that are 7,015-foot long and 5,378-foot long, respectively. Situated at a 1,026-acre property, it has one (1) concourse and six (6) gates. In 2009, it was second on Forbes magazine’s top 10 rip-off airports in the US, with an average cost per mile of 41 cents. In 2017, it had a total of 84,834 aircraft movements. Currently, seven (7) airlines are operating at the airport. These include Allegiant Air, Delta Air Lines, American Eagle, Delta Connection, United Airlines, Elite Airways, and United Express. The busiest routes from July 2018 through 2019 are Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, and Dallas/Fort Worth. Some of the best destinations near the airport include Eastport, Frankfort, and Rapid City.
